Tony Hawk - Tribute (Tributo)

Tony Hawk (Anthony Frank Hawk, Carlsbad, 12 de maio de 1968) é considerado o maior skatista de todos os tempos. Costuma-se compará-lo a Michael Jordan, Pelé ,Ronaldinho por sua genialidade e domínio nas competições. Verdadeiro rei na modalidade vertical, também domina como poucos o Street Style.

Tony é detentor de 12 campeonatos mundiais de Vertical, 3 campeonatos mundiais de Street Style e 8 X-Games.

Tony Hawk possuia grande habilidade desde jovem, tornando-se profissional aos 14 anos (nesta época o necessário para se tornar profissional era apenas entrar em um campeonato profissional ao contrário dos padrões atuais em que se necessita de patrocínio de uma companhia de skate para se tornar um profissional). Ele foi um pioneiro nas mordernas pistas verticais.

Ele possuia seu próprio halfpipe feito por seu pai quando ele morava em sua primeira casa com sua primeira mulher, Cindy, e seu primeiro filho, Riley.

Tony Hawk foi membro da legendária equipe Bones Brigade da Powell Peralta. Ele também possuia seu próprio modelo de calçados profissionais produzidos pela Airwalk.

Em 1999, a empresa de jogos Activision lançou o jogo Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, que foi primeiro jogo de uma das mais bem sucedidas linhas de video-games. O jogo teve sequência em seis jogos populares, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, Tony Hawk’s Underground e Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 Remix, Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland Tony Hawk’s Project 8 Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam E Tony Hawk’s Proving Pround .

Hawk se tornou um nome comercial, aparecendo em uma série de comerciais para uma variedade de companhias, incluindo a Apple Computer e a Domino’s Pizza. Ele também figurou em programas de televisão como Cyberchase, Rocket Power, The Simpsons, Max Steel, Sifl and Olly, e CSI: Miami, e também em filmes tais como Jackass: The Movie, The New Guy, Max Keeble’s Big Move e Dogtown and Z-Boys, e apareceu como ator em filmes como Gleaming the Cube e Police Academy 4. Até o ano de 2004, Tony realizou uma série de manobras históricas e ganhou mais de 80 competições. Ele realizou o primeiro giro de 900 graus completo nos X Games de 1999 após 11 tentativas mal sucedidas, ganhando o prêmio na competição de melhor manobra por uma grande margem no processo. Ele é muitas vezes chamado de “Birdman”(Homem-pássaro).

Com a criação da “Tony Hawk Foudation”, Hawk tem trabalhado para devolver alguma coisa para o esporte que tanto lhe deu. Criada para promover e financiar pistas públicas em comunidades carentes, a fundação distribuiu mais de um milhão de dólares para entidades sem fim lucrativo construírem pistas por todo os Estados Unidos.

Hawk atualmente vive na sua cidade natal Carlsbad, na Califórnia.
